< Lore | The Imprisoning War
In the prologue of Tears of the Kingdom, Link and Zelda are exploring beneath the castle, attempting to determine the source of miasma that is making people in the kingdom fall ill. Prior to reaching the Imprisoning Chamber, they discover a series of murals that detail the brutal conflict known as the Imprisoning War[1]. Throughout the course of Link's adventure to find Zelda and defeat the Demon King, he must help to awaken the sages, all of which end up having a conversation with their ancestors, who further disclose additional details about the event. There is also a Dragon Tear that shows Link Zelda's memories of the event, which provides additional information[2].
