Hyrule Castle

Hyrule Castle in the north of Central Hyrule was constructed following the conclusion of The Imprisoning War to server as a physical barrier and seal for the Demon King. The castle served as the central hub of the kingdom following its construction, various events such as banquets[1].

Hyrule Castle, Beneath the Observation Room
"Deep beneath this land, our mighty first ruler imprisoned the Demon King. To ensure the king's magic would hold, we erected a castle here to protect this sacred site. Without the castle in place, the site may be disturbed, allowing the Demon King's hatred and rage to be revived. The preservation of this castle is therefore tied to the prosperity of the kingdom. May it watch over an eternal peace."

Tears of the Kingdom

In the prologue of Tears of the Kingdom, the seal on the Demon King falters, and Ganon awakens. After assailing Link, he erupts in a burst of power and begins to raise the castle in an event known as The Upheaval[citation needed]. The foundation is severely damaged, with many rooms and corridors being destroyed entirely while many halls become impassable due to collapse.
